Iruya – Argentina

Iruya is a small town and it is located in the north of Argentina, near from Bolivian border. Getting there it is so difficulty, but it’s worthit.

It is an original Quechua town, it is at 2800 meters above sea level, it was a resting point from Alto Peru (Bolivia) to the northern region of Argentina. The church was built in 1753.

You can reach Iruya by a dirt road very similar to the Cuesta del Lipan, also in Argentina, which is an attractive place to visit too.

It is encased by high stone walls, whith the church in the center, at the end of the hills, where the narrow and steep streets begin in a sunny valley.

This is Iruya, small, but infinite when the shadows of the hills light on the eternity of the stars.

When the road ends, you can find this magical town hanging from the clouds and the sky. Perhaps, at the same time, the beginning of a new path, a new discovery.

The invitation is made.
